2026 Guide to Spooky Season in Drip: October Events, Trick-or-Treating & Fall Festivals

2026 Guide to Spooky Season in Drip: October Events, Trick-or-Treating & Fall Festivals

Pumpkin patches, community gatherings, Halloween plans, and a few good reasons to spend October close to home.

There is something about October that makes you want to get outside, make plans with friends, and put a few pumpkins on the porch. Whether the weather cooperates with the fall wardrobe is another question.

For me, the appeal is pretty simple: more time with the people you love, opportunities to support local businesses, and reasons to enjoy the community we get to call home.

If you are looking for fall festivals, pumpkin patches, Halloween activities, or places to trick-or-treat in Dripping Springs, this guide pulls together the 2026 plans I could verify. It includes events in Dripping Springs, a nearby option in Driftwood, and a pumpkin festival day trip to Uhland.

Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Several October events already have published schedules, while some Halloween-specific details still need confirmation.

Fall Festivals and October Events in Dripping Springs

Family Fall Festival at Dripping Springs Ranch Park

Saturday, October 3, 2026 | 2–5 p.m.
1042 Event Center Drive, Dripping Springs

The city's Family Fall Festival listing confirms the date, location, and afternoon hours. Tickets are available online and onsite.

The family activity listing describes a hop-on, hop-off hayride connecting activity stations around the park.

This is an option I would put on the calendar for families looking for an afternoon outing close to home. You can enjoy the event without making an entire road trip out of it.

Use the city's ticket link to check current admission and age policies. I am leaving the price out here because a third-party checkout total is not necessarily the same as the organizer's base admission.

Hill Country Harvest Market

Saturday, October 10: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Sunday, October 11: 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
Dripping Springs Ranch Park, 1042 Event Center Drive

The 2026 Hill Country Harvest Market is the shopping stop on this list. The city advertises clothing, home and holiday decor, jewelry, gourmet food, art, candles, and other gifts.

Published admission is $6, or $5 with a nonperishable food donation for Helping Hands Food Pantry. Children 12 and younger enter free, and admission is good for both days.

If your version of a fall outing includes finding something for the house or getting an early start on gifts, this is worth a look. Treat it as a market outing rather than a pumpkin patch or trick-or-treat event.

First Baptist Church Dripping Springs Family Fall Fest

Sunday, October 11, 2026 | 5:30–7:30 p.m.
203 Highway 290 West, Dripping Springs

First Baptist Church Dripping Springs has announced its fifth annual Family Fall Fest, with free food, fun, and games in the backyard of the church campus.

The invitation specifically welcomes friends and neighbors.

This is a straightforward option for an evening with the family without buying festival tickets. It is also a chance to meet people if you are new to town.

The published description does not explicitly promise trunk-or-treating, so I would plan around the food and games the church has announced.

Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival

Friday–Sunday, October 16–18, 2026 | Historic downtown Dripping Springs

October in Drip includes more than pumpkins and costumes. The Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival returns for its twelfth year with intimate performances centered on original songs and the people who wrote them.

The festival's dedicated page lists:

  • Friday: 1:30–8 p.m.
  • Saturday: noon–8 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

All downtown shows are free. Check the final stage schedule for individual performances.

My suggestion is to pick a few sets you want to hear, leave room for a meal, and enjoy being downtown. Listening-room performances suit a different kind of outing than a busy children's festival, so plan accordingly.

For ideas beyond the event itself, my guide to exploring Dripping Springs is a place to start.

Where to Trick-or-Treat in Dripping Springs in 2026

Dripping Springs Methodist Church Fall Fest

Saturday, October 31, 2026 | Hours still to confirm

Dripping Springs Methodist Church's official event calendar lists Fall Fest on Halloween.

Its Fall Fest registration page references trunk-or-treat parking spots, games and stations, and a cake walk.

This is a concrete Halloween-date option to check. However, I could not verify the event hours or complete guest attendance details from the accessible information.

Before making it your evening's main stop, confirm the start and end times, location details, and whether families attending need to register. The visible registration language includes volunteer and trunk participation, which is different from a guest ticket requirement.

Neighborhood Trick-or-Treating

For door-to-door trick-or-treating, I would start with your own neighborhood or a neighborhood where friends have invited you.

I live in Big Sky Ranch, and one thing I value about neighborhood life is the opportunity to get to know the people around you. Halloween can be a good reason to introduce yourself, walk with friends, or spend an evening out front.

But I do not have verified 2026 public trick-or-treat schedules for Big Sky Ranch, Headwaters, Caliterra, Belterra, or the other local neighborhoods. This guide is not an announcement that any HOA event is open to the general public.

Before choosing a route:

  • Check your resident newsletter or neighborhood group.
  • Ask whether an organized gathering is resident-only or allows invited guests.
  • Confirm parking and access arrangements.
  • Choose a manageable walking route.
  • Visit homes that are clearly participating and respect those that are not.

If you are new to the area, my Dripping Springs neighborhood guide can help you understand the communities. For Halloween participation, current resident information is the better source.

What Time Does Trick-or-Treating Start?

There's not a citywide trick-or-treat window for Dripping Springs, as cool as that would be.🤣

Follow the hours of any organized event, and coordinate neighborhood plans with the people who live there. For younger children, a shorter route while there is still daylight may be the easier choice.

Nearby Pumpkin Patches and Fall Festivals

Driftwood Fall Festival at Vista Brewing

October 1–November 1, 2026, on scheduled operating days
Vista Brewing, 13551 FM 150, Driftwood

The Driftwood Fall Festival advertises pumpkins, photo settings, a corn pit, hay mountain, mini golf, and other activities.

Published hours:

  • Wednesday and Thursday: 4–7 p.m.
  • Friday: 2–7 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m.–7 p.m.
  • An additional opening is advertised for Monday, October 12; confirm its hours.

For ages 4–64, posted admission is $8 Wednesday–Thursday and $15 Friday–Sunday, with a $5 Friday entry special from 2–4 p.m. Children 3 and younger enter free. Other discounts and a season pass are listed online.

Activities are included; food, drinks, and pumpkin purchases are generally additional. Use the festival's ticket calendar for your visit. The tourism calendar displays this as a broad date-range event, but the organizer lists specific operating days and hours.

This is a nearby option for pumpkin photos and a relaxed fall outing.

Uhland Fall Fest: A Day Trip From Dripping Springs

Saturdays and Sundays, September 26–November 1, 2026 | 10 a.m.–7 p.m.
Festival parking: 39 Dairy Road, Uhland

Uhland Fall Fest is a regional outing, not a Dripping Springs event.

The former Dripping Springs Pumpkin Festival relocated to Uhland in 2024 under its new name, according to the announcement published by the City of Uhland. Older Dripping Springs festival listings should not be used for directions.

Current advertised passes are $20 for one day or $27.50 for multiple days, including ticketing fees but with taxes additional. Children 5 and younger and seniors 65 and older enter free. Additional eligibility-based free admission is explained online.

Expect pumpkins, animals, games, and entertainment. Some extras, including train rides and face painting, cost more.

The October 31–November 1 weekend advertises butterfly releases at noon and 5 p.m. each day. Check current programming before buying.

I would give this its own afternoon rather than squeeze it between several Dripping Springs stops.

How I Would Plan an October Weekend in Drip

You do not need to fill every hour to make it a good weekend.

For an easy family afternoon: Pick one festival, allow time to eat, and leave enough room in the day that nobody feels rushed.

For a budget-conscious outing: Start with the free FBC Fall Fest or the free downtown Songwriters shows, depending on the kind of experience you want.

For a date or afternoon with friends: Plan around music downtown, a meal, and time to catch up.

For Halloween: Confirm your neighborhood or organized event plans before adding anything else. Keep the route simple and the transportation easy.

If you want to make a morning of it, my feature on Flores Breakfast and Lunch offers a local breakfast idea. For a meal later in the day, browse my Austin, Dripping Springs, and Hill Country barbecue guide.

Check restaurant hours separately from event schedules.

A Few Practical Things to Check Before You Go

October plans are more enjoyable when a few details are handled beforehand.

Look at the actual operating day. A festival running through October does not necessarily open every day.

Compare the total cost. Admission, pumpkins, food, face painting, and rides may be priced separately. Check whether adults need tickets too.

Check the day's forecast and organizer updates. Bring water, comfortable shoes, and whatever layers make sense that day. For outdoor events, look for weather notices before driving over.

Separate family fall fun from haunted attractions. A hayride can be a daytime children's activity or part of an intense nighttime haunt. Read the description before booking.

Make neighborhood plans with neighbors. Leave driveways clear, use designated parking, and keep the evening considerate for participating and nonparticipating households.
